In May of 2020 the Caribbean had a hotel occupancy of 7.9% which is a significant decrease of 87.5% compared to 2019 (63.1%).

The significant decrease in Caribbean hotel performance is unfortunately a result of the measures taken to prevent the spreading of COVID-19.

The average daily rate (ADR) decreased with 53.2% compared to 2019, from $199.04 to $93.13 in 2020.

As for the revenue per available room (RevPAR), numbers indicate a significant decrease as well of 94.2%. The revenue per available room in 2019 was $125.58 and in 2020 it was $7.32.
